Custom orders are great! And they have been coming in like crazy lately. I love them, but don't know what to think of them. I have had a few where they just forget they ever ordered it, or change their minds (and don't reply to my messages!). Because of this I should be charging them at least half before I make the piece!

Or a lot of times with ceramic work something happens to the custom piece and I have to make more than one to make sure at least one survives! Which is more work for me! I am completely curious as to whether or not I should charge a higher amount for custom pieces just for that reason!! I have seen other shops charge a bit more for custom work, and I never thought I'd do it, but it just seems to make sense.
